Religion

by Aleyce

Sitting, kneeling, standing in rows Like graves, perfectly straight But in pews Thinking, watching, waiting, listening Sometimes a new thought pops in Before they push it aside for What they all know What they've all been told Their whole lives Falling asleep Bored by the monotony of falling in line Afraid to question To speak contradictory Laying down at the feet of authority Burning to the ground all of your history Only two choices but both so severe Why not ease away Manipulate into what you know it should be What you feel in your heart to be true Religion as an institution Or religion as a catalyst Depends on your definition
